Automated system for sales tax registration to be effective from July 1: FBR

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday announced that an automated system for sales tax registration will be effective starting July 1. A press release issued by the FBR stated that the procedure has been proposed to replace the existing system under sub-rules (2) to (8) of Rule 5 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990. Trade deficit shrinks amid stagnant exports

ISLAMABAD: The country’s trade deficit during first 11 months of the current fiscal year fell by 13.62 per cent to $29.207 billion compared to $33.812bn during the same period last year. Emir of Qatar to visit Pakistan on June 23

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will visit Pakistan on June 23, it was announced via Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official Instagram account. SC rejects Mukhtar Mai’s 2011 review petition on technical grounds

The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a review petitionfiled against the acquittal of the accused in the Mukhtar Mai case. Tax exemptions hit alarming Rs972bn

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue tax exemptions widened by nearly 80 per cent to Rs972.4 billion in the outgoing fiscal year from Rs540.98bn the preceding year, noted the Economic Survey 2018-19. FIR filed against PTM leader Gulalai Ismail for making anti-state speeches

ISLAMABAD: A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader Gulalai Ismail under the jurisdiction of Islamabad’s Shehzad Town police station, it emerged on Thursday.
